Business Exchange
I recently started using the new social media site, Business Exchange, which is targeted at those who read the magazine, Business Week, and users of LinkedIn. If you have a LinkedIn account, you can associate it with your Business Exchange profile.
Demonstrate your expertise and knowledge
For the business professional that may have never engaged in social media before, Business Exchange makes it extremely easy for you to share news, blogs, and references with like minded people. You can use the site to demonstrate your expertise and knowledge about subjects that suits your interests.
User friendly
It is very similar to Digg, but more user friendly. Sharing information is made easy. If you can copy and past a URL, you’re in good shape.
Meet like minded professionals
As of this blog posting, there is no way to add, import, or invite your friends. I found myself adding strangers to my network whom I have no current association with, but whom I found interesting. There is potential of networking with random people whom you may never have crossed paths with. Being on this network and adding friends (or strangers in this case) is like going to a networking event or cocktail party where you would meet other professionals, determine if you like them or if they provide value, then decide if you want to interact with them (or in this case add them to your network).
Great for personal branding
This new platform also provides an excellent way to brand and promote yourself by contributing to Business Exchange since it is associated to Business Week. The quality of information you share on the site gives everyone an idea on what you and your work are about. Having your name, picture profile, brief summary about yourself on the site create professional associations with the Business Exchange brand. I also highly recommend this site to share your blog posts because it generates free traffic and great for SEO results. Check out Business Exchange for yourself.
